a phone call came, knowing who's on the other line, i answered.
a typical phone call,
then hot tears began churning within.
silence ensued.
and click, the phone goes dead.
the hot tears began burning my cheeks.
all contained emotions were let out in one single moment.
has it always been there? just that i didn't know?
i guess so.
i am stucked at the middle of the crossroad. noone can lend a helping hand now.
will you please grab me along with you?
thanks to erin and liang who were there. hugs. =)
first of all, HAPPY 21st to bud! well well you're getting older aren't ya?hell ya.
tsk tsk. hahaha.
we spent an adventurous monday at the singapore zoo. we were tourists for a day.
adventurous, all thanks to the irresponsible people at the singapore zoo.
bud came to pick us up from our places on that monday and they had lunch before we sneaked a cake into rong's car. of cos that has to be the bday cake for the birthday boy. too bad it wasn't much of a surprise owing to our silliness. haha.
savouring the cake, singing the melodic birthday song and off, we ventured into the zoo.
i still remember the last trip there wit daphne- a few years ago, i didn't get to see the elephants 'cos it was under some major renovation. but damnit, i didn't get to see them again this time round! we only met half of the many cute animals then it started pouring. drizzle, stop, drizzle, stop, spitter splatter- pouring rain. grrr.
we paid 15 bucks to feel how it's like being one of the animals there, confined in one small space. except that we were stucked there for only 1 hour while the poor animals were stucked in their dens for years. though the zoo renovated, it's still pretty pathetic wit only 3-4 of animals within one sad-looking den. can't say the same for the red-ass monkeys and kangeroos though.
i wonder if they committed suicide, or were bored to death, therefore leaving wit only 2-4 of 'em only. the latter is highly possible.
it is sucha waste, i really wanted to finish the trek! grrrr. 15 bucks gone just like that. worst of all, we wanted to see the crocs and alligators and my elephants!! sigh. thank god we already paid a visit to the stunning white tigers, cutesy polar bears and warm kangeroos.
what made it worst was the damn zookeeper who told us she would come back for us, yet she didn't in the end! made us wait for sucha long time. that's so irresponsible. it was turning evening already and we decided to just walk on and just get drenched.
and then, even the lights were off exactly at 6.30! wtf lah.
that was kinda a bad sign 'cos it meant the zoo is closed for the day. and it was 6.45 by the time we decided to head out.
the adventure began wit us exploring around when the sky turned darker. feels kinda exciting, deserted, dark and left alone only with the near silent roars and call outs of the animals. geeee. we still managed to use kun's torch and spot the huge snakes in the dark.
i think i really looked like a zebra. the pumas- which were quite pretty, with queer hard stares, pounced on the cage when i ran past. whooo. that was pretty close. i guess they thought i was their dinner.
it felt like we were in 'lost', except that we were in the zoo and not some abandoned island. well, that's something you wouldn't get to experience often.
by the time we made it to the entrance, all 6 of us were drenched to our skins. apparently all da staff had already left with only the people at Ben & Jerry's doing closing. really wtf, the peeps didn't bother to come back for us and worst still, they didn't even check if anyone was left in the zoo before calling it a day! what if some group was lost in there or someone could be injured or something? that's just soo irresponsible. a complain has to be lodged.
anyways we were practically travelling the whole of singapore, due to some last minute screw up of plans, before we got to settle for dinner, finally. the dragon gate restaurant at harbourfront is sucha screw up place. we rushed there fifteen minutes before 9.30- which was their last order time, only to be greeted by 'sorry, the kitchen is packing up already.' really, wtf? really.
' didn't you guys say 9.30 is the last order?' 'ya but the kitchen is packing up already, not serving anymore.'
'oh, so you shouldn't say 9.30 is the last order. maybe you guys should state, 9 or 9.15 to be the last order instead.' to that, the waitress only disagrees and repeat 'our kitchen closing' and tries to force a smile. bad service, FAIL.
we had dinner at swenson's in the end. better to head to somewhere 24 hours, to be safe than sorry. it was a great sumptuous treat by bud, which we managed to rob of him. muahahhaa. all of us were dumping food in our mouth like hungry ghosts by the time we tucked in. YUM YUM. side dishes, fish baked rice and then choc malt ice-cream. slurp. i was so hungry that my taste buds didnt really react to the fish baked rice. hahaha.
to end the day, triggered crazee at the old clifford pier. a very nostalgic place but sadly, it's tearing down. sucha waste. we chilled around there before bud sent all of us home. thanks bud again! hope you had a good birthday yeah, i know you did. =)
well peeps, the peeks below were taken since last week. the tim sum supper at geylang is down there too. and of 'cos peeks at the zoo zoo zoooo...take a good peek yeah....
let's welcome the weekends wit wide open arms...
the security guard was laughing at us while we did this. tsk tsk.
a hungry girl makes an angry girl
we were stucked for 1hr so we resorted to...what else but cam-whoring. again.
i didn't know i'm this strong. tee hee hee.
any significance wit the orang utans?
the 6 who were trapped in the enclosure for 1 hour.
we were all decked out in stripes. the zebra and me, i mean.
cutesy sun bear with his pretty necklace.
shelter in the times of the stoned age.
did i mention that he holds a fetish for kangaroos?
he was giving a lecture to some visitors and us. 'Pacu is Pikachu's friend'. Bravo! lol.
that irritating zookeeper and poor lil roo.
finally, the trip to aust. i wished.
